Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki (TOPS), has officially matriculated 6,532 new students for the 2024/2025 academic session in a ceremony that underscored the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.
The event began with a procession of the new students, followed by an oath-taking ceremony administered by the Registrar, Mr. Ojo Adeolu Ayangbemiga.
Addressing the matriculants, the Rector, Dr. (Sur) Sikiru Adetona Ajibola, reiterated the institution’s vision of becoming a world-class educational hub. He assured students that all programmes at TOPS are fully accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), providing them with a strong academic foundation.
Dr. Ajibola described the record number of matriculating students as a testament to the institution’s growing reputation for quality education. However, he urged students to remain focused, warning against complacency, unregistered associations, and cultism. He emphasized that any form of misconduct would be dealt with according to TOPS regulations.
The newly admitted students will pursue various programmes across disciplines such as Science, Financial Management Studies, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Agricultural and Natural Resources, and Business and Communications.
As part of the event, a new Wema Bank branch was inaugurated on campus to enhance banking services for students.
The ceremony featured cultural displays, poetry recitations (ewi), and other student performances, with management recognizing outstanding talents.
The event was graced by academic scholars, dignitaries, Deans, Deputy Registrars, Academic Directors, Heads of Departments, Student Union Government representatives, and other distinguished guests.
