48 iconic personalities are to be honoured at a special event to commemorate the 48th anniversary of the creation of Oyo State. These are individuals and organizations that have made the state proud since its creation on February 3, 1976 (by the then military government led by late General Muritala Muhammad.
The special event – packaged by Blue Synergy Media in collaboration with Oyo State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, will feature an anniversary discourse session themed: Keeping Oyo State’s Place As The Pace-Setter State – while a major highlight of the day will be the presentation of special recognition honours to 48 icons who have contributed to the development of the state and humanity in general -and have excelled in various sectors. A special coffee-table publication with the profiles of the 48 honourees will also be released at the event.
The event will hold at the Western Hall, House of Chiefs, Oyo State House of Assembly Complex, Agodi Ibadan between 4pm and 6pm. An afterparty event (open to the public) will then follow at Ori Oke (Cultural Centre) -scheduled to hold between 7pm and 10pm.
The Team Lead at Blue Synergy Media, Tope Aileru in a statement said the event is put together to celebrate the uniqueness of Oyo State as the pacesetter state in Nigeria, as well as the shining icons that have placed the state so high on the global stage.
Oyo State has been setting the pace in the comity of states in Nigeria since its creation and the anniversary of the birth of the state shouldn’t go unnoticed. Hence, the driving motive behind this event, he said.
