Nigerian Nollywood producer and cultural heritage advocate, Thompson Ukeki, has announced a new season of his groundbreaking reality television show, Pride Heritage, set to take place in Nairobi, Kenya.
The show, regarded as Africa’s first Diplomatic Cultural Heritage Reality TV platform, will feature contestants from 27 African countries competing over 54 days. Organisers revealed that the programme will be broadcast live 24 hours daily throughout the 54-day cultural showcase, highlighting Africa’s diverse traditions, languages, fashion, music, and indigenous knowledge systems.
Ukeki, founder of the cultural initiative also known as Afrik Ultimate Hero Search, has continued to position the platform as a vehicle for reviving and celebrating African heritage on a continental scale. Through the initiative, he has been recognised by the African Union and in connection with the Millennium Development Goals framework as a Cultural Diplomatic Ambassador for his efforts in promoting African identity and development through media.
Speaking during an event in Abuja to mark his recent appointments and recognitions, Ukeki described the opportunity to serve as both an honour and a responsibility.
“It is a privilege to carry the cultural dreams of young Africans on this platform. This appointment is not just personal; it is a call to serve with integrity and commitment,” he said.
In February 2025, Ukeki was appointed West Africa Youth Ambassador under the ECOWAS Youth Parliament, a recognition of his contributions to youth empowerment, cultural preservation, and indigenous language promotion through entertainment.
Adding to his accolades, he was also decorated with the Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity, honouring his leadership qualities and humanitarian contributions across the region.
Ukeki has aligned his cultural advocacy with the African Union Agenda 2030 vision, emphasizing inclusive growth and sustainable development through traditional knowledge systems. As part of his recognition, he was presented with a customised diplomatic vehicle plate number and an honorary plaque in acknowledgment of his creative and humanitarian services.
With the upcoming Nairobi edition of Pride Heritage, Ukeki says the goal remains clear: to unite Africa through culture, inspire young creatives, and amplify the continent’s rich heritage on a global stage.
As his slogan boldly declares: “African Pride Heritage — Revive African Culture.”
