2023: Traditional Rulers Pledge Support for Makinde, Wolekanle, Others

Traditional Rulers in Oriire local government area of Oyo State have pledged their support for the re-election of Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon Akinwale Solomon Akinwole for Oyo North Senatorial District and other PDP candidates.

The monarchs gave the assurance during an interactive session with Hon Akinwole Akinwale in Elerukanfila, Olokoto LCDA

At the meeting were over forty  traditional rulers from  Olokoto, Ogun, ila, Ipekun, Alapasa, Bofowo, Oloya, Adafila, Budo Alfa, Kedo, Aro, Abass, Ogbin, Igbori, Kajola, Gbala, Omidoyin Alawodi, Agabi, Ayepe, Seki Aje, Ipekun, Gbemi,  Elerukanfila, Baba Gaa, Ajegunle, Budo Ode, Tewure and  others

His Royal Highness Oba Lamidi Sanni. the Onitewure of Tewure who spoke on behalf of others said “We are pleased with governor Makinde’s style of governance and we are convinced that his second coming would be more beneficial to the state”

“Governor Makinde started well and he has nor derailed, we will continue to support him, we supported him in 2019 we are not regretting our decision, he has tried his best and we believe he would do more for humanity and the people of Oyo state”

The traditional ruler urged the governor to look into the issue of welfare of the traditional rulers, youth and women development and rural development.

A former chairman of Oriire local government Alhaji Hassan Ahmed  popularly known as Elerukanfila  who initiated the meeting said ‘ Candidate from other party have been approaching us but we have resolved to work for PDP because it is a party that cares for the masses, Let us vote for Wolekanle too, he is a nice man and I believe he would  represent us well at the upper chamber of the National Assembly.

In his response, Hon Akinwale Solomon Akinwole said, Governor Makinde is a promise keeper who will never betray the confidence reposed in him.

He added that “Oyo state is lucky to have Governor Makinde who has demonstrated his passion for the development of the people and i am very optimistic that he will not relent in his thirst to make Oyo state better”.

Wolekanle however urged monarchs to sensitize their subjects and people in their domain on the need to vote for all PDP candidates in the next election and promised that the Governor will look into their request do more.
