The leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oke-Ogun on Thursday held a solidarity rally in honour of His Excellency, Governor Abiola Ajimobi in appreciation for all his developmental projects in Oyo State and for according the zone a pride of place in his administration.
Thousands of party faithfuls, who came from the zone’s 18 local government areas and local council development areas, converged in Saki, led by the Coordinator of the APC solidarity group, Hon. Oladimeji Dauda Azuzu, all the elected executive chairmen, the local party chairmen, all the political appointees and other leaders of the party.
The executive chairman of Itesiwaju LGA, Hon. Niyi Adeagbo, while speaking on behalf of his colleagues, noted that governor Abiola Ajimobi has shown enough capacity of magnanimity and goodwill to Oyo State people through rapid infrastructural developments across the state. He commended the participated loyal members for their solidarity and said the governor has left the legacy of honour in the state and must be appreciated.
The council boss further said, “let me reassure the good people of Oke-Ogun and our teeming members that the Gov. Ajimobi’s administration despite the short period of time left is intensifying efforts to live up to its promises to the people. Therefore, today’s solidarity match is a step in the right direction as it will signal to the world a semblance of large followership and increasing popularity of our great party, APC, in the state”.
Adeagbo however thanked the governor for the developmental projects executed and the ones being carrying out in Oke-Ogun as well as key political and civil service appointments given to the zone by his administration.
He maintained that the party machinery in Oke-Ogun will do the needful to reconcile the aggrieved members and also reciprocate Governor Ajimobi’s kind gesture to the zone by delivering bloc votes to APC come 2019.
