PROFESSOR Adeniyi Olowofela on Wednesday emerged the Federal House of Representatives candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress for Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency through affirmation by delegates at the party’s primary election.
Following the consensus decision of all the delegates, voice voting was adopted for the primary election which was held at the Ido Local Government Headquarters where delegate names were called out of the delegate lists.
The delegates totaling 605 affirmed by saying “yes, we are in support of Professor Adeniyi Olowofela as our candidate for Federal House of Representatives”.
Meanwhile, Olowofela was the only aspirant of the party jostling for the seat and the delegates had to vote in order to complete due process in line with the electoral law.
Responding shortly after his election, the ex- Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Olowofela thanked the delegates, leaders and stakeholders from across the two local government areas housing the Federal constituency, adding that his endorsement was an evidence of the confidence reposed in him.

“My sole objective remains an advocacy for the improvement of the lot of my people and ensuring that young men and women coming after me in the community have a better deal through responsive, responsible and effective governance. I consider this a huge privilege and a great responsibility
“At this juncture, we need quality representation. We need someone who will represent the people’s interest and not individualistic interest. By God’s grace, when I get to the House of Assembly, our most fundamental needs in this constituency will be thoroughly addressed. This is not my personal race and that is why I am counting on the support of everyone.
“I know that I cannot do it alone. I am hereby soliciting the support and assistance of all”, Olowofela added.
