TRCN conducts the October 2018 diet of the professional qualifying examination across the country on Saturday October 20, 2018. More than 17,000 would-be teachers have applied for the examination.
The Registrar and Chief Executive of TRCN Prof Segun Ajiboye spoke in an interview with newsmen reiterating the position of the Council that only that only those who pass the examination will be registered by TRCN.
The Registrar who recently attended the 2018 Maltina Teacher of the year award ceremony in Lagos stated that it is no longer possible to get a TRCN Registration certificate without passing the PQE.
He therefore enjoined employers of teachers to demand the TRCN certificate towards recruitment and promotion of teachers.
“Our education system has to be sanitized to remove quacks from the teaching profession. Only those who are qualified, registered and licensed will be allowed to practice in the country.”
According to the TRCN Boss “all these are part of the government’s efforts to ensure quality standards in education practice, especially in the teaching profession. Only quality teachers can deliver quality education” he stressed.
