Governor of the state of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has debunked the insinuation that he is planning to impose a gubernatorial candidate for the All Progressives Congress APC in Osun.
His eight years tenure will expires on November 28 and there has been an ongoing political battle among the APC top notchers in the state for the his seat
Speaking at an interractive session with selected social media influencers and journalists in Osogbo, Ogbeni Aregbesola said ” Democracy is all about people, everybody knows that i believe in democracy,and in democracy people are to choose whom to lead them so there is no plan to impose any candidates.”
” I am not to choose any candidates for election there are guidelines to be followed by the party to organized free and fair primary and i am sure it will be done in a free and fair manner and wheoever won the ticket will be supported.”
When asked the kind of quality he would want his sucessor to posses , the Ijesha born politicians said “my sucessor must be more brilliant committed to the progressive ls ideology and transformation of the state
He also dislosed that he is not contesting for any political position in lagos as being speculated by people. According to him, “I am negotiating for a plot of laid to build a house in Osogbo and i will ne here as Guru, that does not mean i will not be supporting lagos in any form but the senatorial issue does not exist.”
When asked what next after November 2018. Aregbesola said ” my wife has been saying that i spent too much time in government so i want to return to my wife”
