The Seyi Makinde’s government in Oyo State has made significant strides in various aspects of governance since coming into office for second term of office. Some of the notable achievements include, education, healthcare ,Infrastructure, Agribusiness and revamped economy. Truly, creativity is a habit, and the best creativity is the result of good work habits which residents are enjoying in Oyo State.
The Oyo-Iseyin road which is a federal road that links the Oyo and Oke-Ogun zones has to be taken up by Governor Makinde because of its important to the economy of the state. The Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub, Fasola which is also being redeveloped by the Oyo State Government will be easily accessed via the Oyo-Iseyin Road with the reconstruction of the road.
The 34.85 km Oyo-Iseyin Road is also a major significant effect in celebrating an hundred days in office of Omituntun 2.0 of Governor Makinde. One of its key contributions is the direct link to the Irepo Farmers Market at Oyo
West Local Government, This market is a center of agricultural trade where agricultural
products are bought and sold. The road
will facilitate seamless transportation of
goods to market, benefiting both farmers
and consumers.
Governor Makinde who believes that good roads make trade and commerce a lot easier for people as it will ensure travelers to quickly sell products or services, expanding business is much easier if roads are in good condition, Oyo-Iseyin road will provide access to important places such as the Oyo West
Amotekun office, allowing rapid response in emergency situations. This convenience increases the safety and security of residents.
The government has embarked on various infrastructure projects across the state.
Governor Makinde’s first 100 days in office under Sustainable Development (Omituntun 2.0) were significant for several reasons, for his transparency and accountability, continuous prompt payment of salaries, payment of all deductions of workers to cooperate society, payment of gratuity and procurement of over 100 security patrol vehicles to enhance security network in the state.
Governor Makinde’s commitment to good governance, transparency, and inclusivity has not gone unnoticed, his collaborative approach by involving the residents in decision-making processes has allowed the people of Oyo State to feel heard and valued. His efforts towards promoting unity, equality, and economic growth have already started yielding positive results,
His visionary leadership and strategic planning have paved the way for innovative initiatives that will undoubtedly transform Oyo State into a model of progress. Governor Makinde understands the difference between poverty alleviation and wealth creation and in response to the pressure caused by the withdrawal of Premium Motor Spirit subsidy, it is not just about helping people but also planning interventions that wil lead to wealth for people. The intervention, called Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery (SAfER), aims not only to help people weather the storm, but also to improve their lives by turning them into wealth creators, he was able to achieve this by targeting the needy across the 33 local governments in the state.
Governor Makinde’s innovative approach in harnessing the knowledge and potential of the people of Oyo State has been truly commendable. He recognized that the true power of a state lies in the collective wisdom and talents of its citizens, he has taken significant steps towards creating an environment where everyone can contribute and thrive.
